...the internet years
what exactly are the internet years? well, let's see, i've always been a huge fan of music and have been making mixed tapes since way back in the eighties. We had even elevated it to a true art form in art school, with conceptual themes and extensive packaging. As the digital music thing took off in the late nineties I started to amass a ridiculous amount of music from various sources and from multiple genres. I didn't have a good way of organizing the music at the time so everything just wound up in a huge "random MP3" folder. The internet years compilation series is a way for me to organize some of this collected music by genre or general theme and also keep up the art form of the mixed tape/CD compilation.
