installations

My installations involve the use of experimental materials and surfaces as a way of conveying my thinking about social topics. For example, in the Eastern State Penitentiary installation “Portraits of Inmates in the Death Row Population Sentenced as Juveniles,” I used the natural oxidation of steel to reinforce the passage of time, as well as relate to the immediate environment. In my recent installation, “who died,” retinal afterimages, the byproducts of exposure to high contrast stimuli, was used to reference fleeting memories. And in the anthrax victims series, shadows are used to refer to the persistence of memory.
